Autumn Sun

Let the autumn sunlight cascade through the nursery window.  Autumn provides us with glorious low sunlight that fills our spaces with light. Use it to your advantage, cascade shadows, provide subtle experiences for children to discover, point out shadows on the wall and inspire and provoke conversations with children, use this natural gift as a learning experience.

This beautiful image was taken at one of our nurseries, just look how the light cascades and creates all of these shadows on the walls. Our windows are kept bare, with no pictures stuck to them, the light is softens by white draped material diffusing the brightness, we provide branches and hang paper stars to lower the ceiling height and to help create interesting shadow formations.
