My name is Caitlin and I make nesting dolls in the cracks of time between being a supermom, housekeeper, entertainer, accountant, potty trainer, handy woman, nurse, memory maker, rule enforcer, crisis negotiator, laundry service, dental hygienist, sleep coach, bum wiper, gardener, cheerleader, comforter, 24 hour convenience store… and all those other roles one assumes as a parent. Oh, and I also teach primary school.

My babes, Kit and Robin, were the catalyst to this little business adventure. I made them each a set: birds for Robin, bears for Kit. When not adorning their beautifully curated shelves between used tissues, scribbled drawings of rainbows and nick-nacks that belong in the garage, their nesting dolls are used for all kinds of games, usually involving them eating each other – Kit thinks I should make a food chain. Maybe I will! And out of this was born ‘the fox and the robin’ – finally, a place to fulfil all your nesting doll needs! I love that people see my dolls and think ‘hey, I’d like that, but can you do a set with my favourite animal in it and a cat like the one next door?’ Yes! Custom orders are excellent, I love to try out new ideas.

Creativity is my medicine. It is the antidote to a brain that is overzealous with the anxiety and the mom guilt. It is my something old and something new. It is both a labour and a love and an opportunity to make something that will bring joy to others.
